Here is a quick glimpse to show you what I’ve been up to (step-by-step tutorial will come VERY soon). This is my very first ever attempt at sewing / reupholstery AND? I didn’t know how to sew until now. Proof that it CAN be done yourself with a little help from inspiring bloggers and YouTube tutorials…even with a beginner’s sewing machine.

Quick Tips:
1). As you disassemble your original fabric, take lots of pictures and take notes, too! Kind of like dropping bread crumbs in the woods so you can find your way back and reassemble the puzzle in reverseorder. That’s right…first fabric off = last piece you add back on.
2). Buy or borrow an air compressor / staple gun. Craft staplers were not strong enough for tightly-pulled fabric to stay in place. Power tools, baby! And don’t be afraid to touch up with a glue gun. Be resourceful
3). Cut fabric slightly larger than your template (based on my own lessons learned).
More to come!!
Oh, and P.S. I’m wrapping up another project too…I made my own replacement slipcover for my Arhaus couch….they wanted a LOT of money to purchase a new one. Perfect job for DIY!!
